The Emporer has no clothes!

Will the moral imperative and doing the right thing for the right reasons ever take traction with USA rugby. Pull your heads out of the sand people and open your eyes to the painful truth.

USA rugby, your slanted gilwixism riddled dribble was all but kissing his rear end. Not one, not one gracious word from the pretend victors coach for the United Warriors. me, me, me, me, me!!!!

I know its embarrassing that you have been unable and unwilling to make this situation right.

I hope you all enjoy holding each others hands, while watching "forever strong". When the lights turn up you will find there is no one else in the theater. No one else cares because this is the worst kept secret in rugby. The other High School teams across the country have no respect for Highland. The movie should be called "Forever the Hypocrite" or "Do as I say not as I do".

Call the Jesuit Club in Sacramento for an independent opinion. They have been beaten by Highland in the finals several times. They were so fed up with the two faced hypocrisy, that last year after being beaten again by the Kiwi contingent, they pressed USA rugby to form a separate single school high school division. Now they don't have to play Highland anymore.

Highland cherry picks the best players from all over the Salt Lake Valley and NEW ZEALAND. Jesuit is very happy, finally being on a level playing field.

United was the moral victor on the field today!! They have provided the standard for how to build a club the right way.

Highland with the 6 Kiwi ringers from New Zealand has once again perpetuated the greatest deception in high school sports. The irony is that it is a deception party with only two attendees, USA Rugby and Highland. The rest of us have clued in a long time ago and chuckle as they stuff themselves with the chocolate cake of self congratulation and gloating pride.

Why doesn't someone ask to interview the boys from New Zealand? They are hidden away from the press for a reason.

If they talk and tell the truth then the Highland Rugby deck of cards will crumble to the ground.

I salute the young men from United, warriors everyone.

I pity the young men from Highland and their parents, who leave the field with the biggest pile of points yet a hollow and self serving victory.

Mr Gilwix you are the king again for one day, until you look yourself in the mirror and wipe the chocolate cake from your face.

Mountains do not move for the benefit of man. So then the choice for man becomes in which direction should he move to overcome the mountain. No good ground was ever gained complaining to, or about the mountain. Some think the victory is made by circumnavigating the height. The true victory is found in the man who challenges the mountain summit on its terms and achieves the Apex. Mountains do not move for the benefit of man!
It's the same with rugby, and life. We are the best rugby state in the country due to presence of Highland and the high standard of competition they model. Indeed United would not be as good as it is, if they were not always aiming to beat Highland. The fact that we are able to play them during the regular season is a tremendous advantage as it elevates the level of us all. The key for us all who want to improve rugby in the USA is to bring our game up to highlands level and surpass it. Then we could truly be competitive nation in world rugby. I have seen the amount of work the young men dogmatically put themselves through to be a part of the team. That is why they win regardless of where their players hail from. Diversity is strength, not weakness. Inclusion, not exclusion is the key to power, and success. No one ever got better at rugby by complaining that someone was always better.
Incidentally, being from New Zealand does not imbue anyone with divine rugby ability. Ask France if you don’t believe me. (By the way, I am an ALL BLACKS supporter). They are beatable everyone is. It is merely a matter of focus and determination.

Jeremy, your comments are appreciated.

But a mountain is only a mountain if its truly a mountain. Highland is not a Mount Everest without the kiwi boys, just a hill. This was very obvious if you watched the game. If not for the stacked back line all was even.

This is about principles, integrity and honesty.

It would be awesome for Highland to play and win without the import players. Think of what this would do for their own local talent.

And hiding the Kiwi boys from the press speaks for itself.

I have been following rugby in Utah for some time, and am a bit perplexed as to why someone is dedicating an entire blog to a high school program. Could you explain? What's the point? I was also wondering, as I read the Goff blog, about the alleged impropriety of members of your family posing as USA rugby officials and walking into a high school demanding records? You said you were open to questions on this blog, so... I only ask this because you seem quite dedicated to "honesty and integrity" and I hope that the same is expected and displayed by it's author and those surrounding him.

Thank you,

I am just as dedicated to exposing the truth as Larry Gilwix is at propping up his cardboard facade. Why, because its the truth.

Yes send me the details of what you
are talking. Happy to respond. Mr Goff has been a strident supporter of Highland. Difficult to admit that you may have been wrong after 20 years.

Ask instead about the 6 kiwis that dropped out of the sky on to Mr Gilwix's doorstep this year.

In his own words he has replied to his personal knowledge of how this amazing annual phenomenon of amazing rugby players showing up in the middle of the night on his doorstep with ...

"I KNOW NOTHING"!!!

what is your deal. all you do is bash on highland non stop, do you ever hear the highland coach say anything about you? no and i know your going to say its because your program is clean or better or some crap like that but guess what? its not. if you "program" was as good and wonderous as you say you wouldn't say stuff like this you would man up and be a good sport but nope we have to blame our loses on the fact that highland has kiwi players. so what four players are the reason you lost? As you should know rugby is a TEAM sport and plus they've beaten teams without kiwis. And whats this crap about hiding players from the media? there aren't any cameras at the games there aren't reporters everywhere. Yes its true the kiwis go to practice and are shut away right after now one is allowed to talk to them or anything. get real man. why can't you just be a man and be happy that your taem got second at nationals instead of just bashing on an amazing team, program, and an amazing man.

oh and answer rugbyfan's question don't avoid it

dear fan,

think for yourself. read the letters from the school board when they kicked the kiwi boys out of Olympus High School in 2005. did not make this stuff up. it is the truth. if imports were brought here from Russia every year to play high basketball and then went home at the end of the season, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE!

think for yourself!

Mr. Puriri I have to correct your answer to Rugbyfan's question concerning Mr. Alex Goff. Goff is an independent news journalist who would not be hired knowing to have a biased opinion of the Highland Rugby team. He is a journalist, journalists get paid to tell it like it is. There is no benefit for Mr. Goff to align himself with a High school Rugby team. Here again you are wrong. I find your conspiracy theories not only wrong on so many levels, but I'm sorry to say, pathetic.

Ra Puriri said...

Never have advocated a conspiracy theory. Simply an issue of integrity.
Mr Goff believes that I fabricated the letter from the Utah board of Education attorney in 2005. As a journalist he should call and verify this story independent of me and Larry. He has not.

Because if he did he would find out that it was true and correct and then his journalistic integrity would have motivated him to write a retraction and explanation to the rugby world.

He has not done this. Not questioning his integrity, he simply has not called.
